Either: If vitamin D deficient you can do either. There should not be side effects (if not allergic to it) at this dose but if you have any unusual effects see your doctor immediately. Too much Vit D intake can cause high levels of calcium in the body and so if you experience unusual tiredness,nausea,vomiting,constipation,loss of appetite, mood changes,thirst or increased urination seek medical help.

10000/week is: a higher dose, but approx. 2000 u of D3/day is usually the best dose. Follow levels after 3 mos or replacement and check w/your physician. Usually no side effects.
