Swollen ankle: should be looked at by your surgeon. Swelling can be due to the original injury and or the surgery that followed. It can also be post operative swelling, either way the ankle needs to be examined by your doctor.

Swollen ankle : X-ray should be taken to see if ankle mortise is properly aligned. Some fractures are easier to repair than others. If the ankle joint is not congruous there will be chronic pain and swelling.
