Surgery in may for a fractured ankle they put a plate and 7 screws . now there is swelling around plate. warm to touch do i use heat or ice to help.

Possible infection: Swelling and warmth can be signs of infection. You could try some heat and NSAIDs, but if the symptoms persist or worsen you should definitely have it evaluated by your surgeon.
