Aphthous ulcer: These type of lesions in the mouth are, as you know very painful. They do occur frequently on the gums, often where the gum transitions to the oral mucosa. The presence of this on your gums need not concern you regarding your dental health, although brushing in that area will be a challenge until it heals. Meanwhile try OTC analgesics and topical pain relievers. Vitamin C 500 mg speeds up healing
