Quite possibly: Yes, that is one of the signs called pica and being anemic is common in menstruating women. Also in vegetarians. Please see your doctor for a blood test to find out.

Not Necessarily: ...but consider the possibility that you have a PICA disorder. Beware excessive ice chewing can harm your teeth, your jaw and slow your digestive tract. PICA is a behavioral disorder that may be improved with counseling. Consider having a discussion with a therapist.
