I have autoimmune gastritis. bun is low at 5. creatinine is normal at 1.07. the ratio is low at 4.67. what does this mean? i eat well. what should i ask my dr to check? what can cause these numbers? im also b12, d, and iron deficient?

You needn't worry at all. These are totally normal results indicating normal kidney function. In your case, the ratio is low because the BUN is lower than usual -- but that's not a sign of kidney disease or any other health problem. All is well.

If you are a vegetarian that may explain your low, though not abnormal BUN and also the deficiency of vitamins and iron. However iron deficiency in an adult male warrants that internal bleeding be excluded. Your BUN or the BUN creatinine ratio is not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!
