Chronic Pancreatitis: This is chronic inflammation of the pancreas resulting in abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, elevated liver functions and usually normal pancreatic enzymes. A lot of people get it after gallbladder surgery. Those who have it in my experience have multiple episodes of the above symptoms sometimes requiring hospitalization. Coordinated treatment between PCP and GI is needed.

Depends on degree: The answer to this depends upon your symptoms and lab values. You may or may not need pancreatic enzyme supplements. NO alcohol is the biggest thing you can do to help control it. Your primary may be able to monitor it if he or she is comfortable with it, otherwise you should seek care with a gastroenterologist. As for your herbs - check EACH one for effect on pancreas.
