Enzymes: If you don't have diabetes, taking pancreatic enzyme supplements with meals can relieve the symptoms of poor digestion. Alcohol should be avoided since it can trigger acute pancreatitis.

Cigarettes: In addition to avoiding alcohol, cigarettes should be stopped. You need to get an answer to the question "why do I have chronic pancreatitis?" that may be more important than taking pills.
