What is proactive treatment for chronic pancreatitis? non alcohol related/ blunt force trauma is the cause. er visits are unpleasant and judgmental.

Pancreatitis: Can be tough to deal with. I agree the ER is a very busy and not always pleasant place. There are many strategies but pancreatitis can be tough to deal with. Only use your pain medication when necessary as you build tolerance to it. Try eating small meals that are low in fat. Enzyme supplementation also helps. Lastly, nerve blocks, surgery and duct decompression are possible options.

You have C.R.A.P.: That's Chronic Recurrent Acute Pancreatitis either due to a Pancreatic Duct of Wirsung blockage or a pseudocyst. Firstly you need to see a gastroenterologist and get a MRI (with contrast) to define the anatomy of the biliary tree and pancreas. You may also need a ERCP depending what the MRI Shows. Secondly this can't be treated medically and you will probably need a surgical procedure. Go to Univ.
