Protocol: They typically take samples even when the appearance is normal or nearly normal. If there was a small area if redness they might have sampled that, for example. Your GI specialist would tell you if he found anything suspicious.

Looking for more: Since you are 27 years old, it's clear this wasn't just a screening colonoscopy that you would otherwise undergo at around age 50. I suspect that you have some intestinal symptoms and that's why the colonoscopy was completed. Often a gastroenterologist will do random biopsies to make sure there isn't a microscopic process that can cause symptoms that you can't see with the naked eye.
