So my neurosurgeon said my shunt is fine but it is causing me pain when i try to sleep she said just wait 2 more weeks what difference could that make? i need to sleep more then 3 hours a night

Sleep is Important: There are two ways to approach this issue. If the pain is occurring only when you are lying down, there is a chance that the pressure is going up with that position, which could mean the shunt opening pressure is set too high. If pain at the shunt site is the problem, you might ask your neurosurgeon if it would be reasonable to use pain medications or a sleep medication for a few weeks.
