It : It is not common to die of anaphylaxis in hospital. I am sure there are incidences of allergenic medications administered which could cause an anaphylactic reaction. Blood products which could cause reaction are well screened and carefully selected to prevent a reaction. Antibody administration such as ige antibodies can potentially can cause a reaction. I have been blessed by the fact that during my 35 years of practice, and many thousand patients, I have not come across a death from anaphylaxis to any product. Powlin v. Manuel md, mba, ms.
