No, this is unlikely: cold sores are caused by a virus called Herpes simplex type 1. The virus lives in the nerves around your mouth and may come out when you are stressed, or have a cold or exposed to sun. They generally break out in the same area, so it is unlikely to occur in the eye. It is also unlikely to occur inside the mouth if it has always occurred around the mouth on the outside.
