Herpes transmission : Herpes is infectious if mucus membrane to mucus membrane contact. There is a possibility since the baby touched the mouth and then their eyes/ mouth and is 14 weeks . May consider prophylactic acyclovir by mouth since the baby is so young.The baby should be monitored for fever or pain and if any signs go to ER Call the pediatrician today to discuss. Herpes is serious in babies.
