Mesothelioma: Unfortunately, mesothelioma is a very aggressive cancer and does not have a great prognosis. The 5 year survival rate is 10% (meaning at 5 years after diagnosis, only 10% of those patients are still alive), and the one year survival rate is about 40%. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is 10-11 months. Some patients do live longer with treatment, although there is no cure.

Mesothelioma: The mesothelioma survival rate following diagnosis is usually just a year or two. That doesn’t mean, however, that there won’t be exceptions.

Still various: Although inoperable mesothelioma carries worse prognosis than operable one, its general prognosis still varies depending on the extent of the disease, Besides. there are many other treatment available such as chemotherapy, radiation or clinical trial or target therapy to help extend life and relieve symptoms. I recommend that the pt should see a medical oncologist.
