Hard to say: Lung cancer often spreads to the adrenal glands, but adrenal tumors are often benign. The best predictor of how well your friend will do is how quickly the tumor is growing. If he truly had nothing there in march and now, despite chemotherapy, has large adrenal tumors growing that is not a good sign. If, however, your frined has had adrenal tumors all along, then the prognosis is much better.
