Possible: The return of symptoms may indicate that the bacteria causing your infection are resistant to the antibiotic. An initial improvement may be explained by elimination of any bacteria susceptible to the antibiotic and the return of symptoms is due to the selection of resistant bacteria. If a culture was taken of your urine would be tested against various antibiotics. A different antibiotic may work.
