More likely UTI: Cipro (ciprofloxacin)bay is an excellent antibiotic for UTIs, but unfortunately we are seeing an increasing # of Cipro (ciprofloxacin) resistant UTIs. Painful urination is not a known side effect of Flagyl. Thus my advice is to get your urine cultured & have your Dr. prescribe another antibiotic. Hopefully she/he sent urine specimen for culture & sensitivities so she/he would know of a satisfactory alternative antibiotic 4 you
