I started taking trazodone for chronic insomnia. it worked great for 7 days. then last night i took it, and even upped the dose, and got nothing. does this mean it's never going to work again? normal?

No.: Tolerance to trazadone does not build that fast. I suspect there were some other disturbances that made sleep difficult. Like noise, worries, etc. Try to add relaxation tips to help you sleep

May continue to work: Trazodone may continue to work for you. I would keep trying it as it is one of the safest sleep medications. Sometimes your body just does not respond for one reason or another but this does not mean that it will not work in the future. Try these tips too 1)avoid caffeine for 12 hours before sleep 2) do not use any electronics 2 hours before sleep 3) do not exercise just before sleep
