See your doctor: You may be suffering from sciatica or perhaps lumbago+vascular claudication. Of course, you also may have neurogenic claudication to explain both symptoms. See your doc and let us know if we hit the lottery with any of those guesses! Cheers!

Disc disease: You describe a common scenario of someone with lumbar disc disease or lumbar stenosis. When you are standing it puts pressure on the already swollen tissue around the spinal nerves that go into the leg. There are other causes as well but the place to start is an exam with PCP. They will likely order X-ray and maybe MRI.
