A member asked:

Problems detected at which level of the thoracic spine could cause a pain that wraps around from back to side to abdomen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thoracic, but...: AnnetteM, The dermatome distribution to the torso and back is from the thoracic spinal cord. If you were to have damage to a nerve innervating this region, then you would likely have sensory deficits in a "ring" all the way around. For instance, T10 damage would distribute sensory changes around the belly button. Still, it is important to rule out other pathology that can mimic these symptoms!
