MRCP best option: Whenever there is bile duct dilatation, the first priority is to look for obstruction (gallstones, strictures). If there is no obstruction, then we look for choledochal cyst, Caroli disease, or cholangitis. MRCP is a very powerful non-invasive tool in the evaluation of pancreato-biliary disease, and is the diagnostic modality of choice.
