Never: A teen that is still growing will need ~9 hrs of restful sleep/d with more if they are involved in sports or studying hard for exams.Lack of adequate sleep leads to symptoms such as difficulty focusing, forgetting & diminished motor control. Some will develop sleep talking or sleep walking. After growth stops, most can get by on 8, but brain connections continue to form until 22-25 and rest helps.
