Not necessarily: Over the long hall your system is likely to show subtle if not dramatic signs of a deficit like sleep walking, sleep talking, nodding off while driving etc. 8 hours/24 would be the minimum healthy pattern. At 18 you still have 6-8 years of brain growth/refinement to support & it requires healthy rest.
