A member asked:

What do you suggest if my child is 13 years old she has always had post nasal drip. it really bothers her and she constantly gets a really bad cough can this be cured?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PMD : If the cough is due to post nasal drip it may be related to allergies. Allergy testing can determine what she is allergic to and then she can be treated with medications like antihistamines and nasal steroids/nasal antihistamines. Over the counter nasal saline is also helpful. Other causes of cough in child include infection, GERD(reflux), or asthma. It is important to see a doctor to find out why
