74 years old woman has chronic cough. acid , reflux, post nasal drip, allergies, and chest infection have all been ruled out . what could be the reason for cough?

Asthma COPD: A pulmonary function test and chest imaging study are indicated. Other causes may be related to cardiac disease. Please follow up with your physician, and avoid smoke,dust, mold,pollen and animal dander.

Many others: From heart disease, reactive airway disease, anxiety, foreign body, recurrent aspiration or psychogenic to name a few. So far the work up followed up on most common possible causes.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. Any cough lasting longer than 2 weeks needs to be investigated. It would be prudent to see your doctor, preferably a pulmonologist. Wish you good health!
