Comparison?: I need more information to answer this question: to what location are you comparing the velocity in the aorta? Typically, the velocity of blood in the aorta is higher than, for example, the venae cavae that deliver blood to the right side of the heart. This is because blood that is forcibly pumped out of the heart goes into the aorta and then travels in pulsatile fashion to the brain, legs, etc
