Probably not: The inflammation is caused by the chords vibrating. It usually takes much longer than a week.

VC inflammation: Voice rest for minimum of three weeks. Take Prilosec daily. No smoking, no alcohol. No throat clearing. get recheck in one month. Advise vocal coach. Drink two quarts of water per day.
