When: The glomerular filtration rate gets low metformin should not be used in diabetics. The rest are safe. At a creatinine of 1.2 the metformin is still safe

Metformin?: Why do you consider a creatinine level of 1.2 high? How old is your friend? Is she a woman? How much does she weight? Until we know those answers, there is no evidence that she has any chronic kidney disease, making those medicines safe. If your friend is concerned about her medications, the best person to ask is her physician (P), as her P knows her best of all.
