Diabetes management: You need to speak with her diabetes specialist, but it is almost always safer to have patience sugar run a little high than too low. Hypoglycemia can be deadly. If she has adult onset diabetes she may not need insulin, (even if she's already on it) and may be able to be controlled on some of the newer oral agents. Please speak with her doctor or diabetic educator, management team soon

Dm regimen: It might be the diabetes regimen that's causing the low blood sugar. Talk to her doctor about other regimen that is safer and less likely to cause hypoglycemia. There are also monitoring devices that she can use to decrease her chance of hypoglycemia. Good luck.
