Normally blood sugar level does not go over 170. That does not mean that it cannot go over it without any diabetes. For diagnosis of diabetes, fasting blood sugar >126 on two tests HBA1C>6.5 Or Oral glucose tolerance test blood sugar >200 on two occasions Please get any of these diagnostic tests before rushing to conclusions .
