A member asked:

Every medication my diabetic mother tries to take for acid reflux causes her to have low blood sugar. what medicine can she take that won't do this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Other meds?: In order for a diabetic to have low sugars, they have to be on a medication for diabetes that can cause low sugars (insulin, glyburide, glipizide). If she is not on any of these meds, she may feel like her sugar is low, but if she measures it, she will find that it is not low. If she is on these meds, her dose needs to be adjusted so that her sugars do not become low.
