Infection: If you have missed doses of antibiotics you are at risk of incomplete/partially treated infection and could relapse. It is important to resume normal dosing quickly. Many Intravenous antibiotics can also be given intramuscularly. If you are improving, perhaps you can be switched to an oral regimen, though it depends on the type of infection being treated.
