Many reasons: Inflammation is a generic term for irritation. There are many things that can cause colon inflammation such as infection, diseases like Crohns, and many other things (some common , some rare) The reasons for your inflammation will require more investigating with a history, exam and perhaps more tests. Good luck and feel better!
