Normal Exam Finding: This sensation is felt more than heard. It is a normal finding. I just did it on myself and my husband. If it doesn't make a click, it is a negative sign requiring more investigation. It is not a pleasant feeling however to grab one's Adam's Apple (Laryngeal Cartilage) and move it up and down or from side to side. Since yours is normal, I advise to you discontinue this procedure. Be well.

Hi I seem to have a problem with my throat when I move my adams apple down it makes a clicking sound. And when swallowing saliva it also makes the clicking sound?
Every time I swallow I feel a uncomfortable feeling/pain and it feels like my hyoid bone is clicking or griding on something. If I touch my throat above my adams apple I can feel it clicking. Its going on 3 weeks now. Can acid reflux cause this?
