Weight Loss.: If you are overweight, weight loss will always improve pain symptoms when walking or doing sports. Chondroitin and Glucosamine supplements are also frequently used to improve 'arthritis' in patients if that is one of your problems. Trying a knee brace like shock doctor could provide some stability until you either lose enough weight, if overweight, or strengthen the muscles that support the knee

Insufficient info: You have not provided enough information to give you a meaningful opinion. Surgery is probably not indicated and you should follow your doctor's advice. Ir you are overweight, losing weight may help.
