No: Neither steroids or gallstones affect platelets. Your platelet count of 131 is just below the limit of normal. 106 is low but not worrisome. The chances are that there is clumping of platelets causing the miscount, though if a repeat test shows a low count again, additional tests and a physical exam are appropriate.

Platelets: Low platelet count can be caused by a number of things. The steroids (predisone) actually is used as a treatment to raise the count. Its unlikely the gallstones are an issue either as far as platelets go. However, if you actually have cirrhosis that can cause the spleen to trap platelets and give a low count. Hopefully, your doc has already ordered a liver panel to evaluate.
