Can back and hip pain be caused by gallstones?

Yes and no: Back pain yes. Gallstones can cause colic not only referred to the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, butvalsobthe right upper back. They can also cause chest pain. Often they are asymptomatic. Hip pain no. Lower back pain no.
