Big Dipper: Do you recognize the constellation of the Big Dipper? It is because the stars form a certain pattern that we have learned to recognize and call the " Big Dipper". The diagnosis of lupus is also based upon a constellation of certain "stars" that create a pattern that we call lupus. Joint pain without swelling and fatigue are not helpful "stars". If ANA "star" was (-) then lupus very unlikely.
