Results differ: Many medications can help OCD but,the SSRIs have typically been most effective, often at higher doses than what is needed to treat depression. OCD can get worse during periods of stress so in mild forms it can appear to go away on its own. However, it typically does require treatment to go away. Luckily there are many behavioral treatments available which are very effective in treating OCD .
