Remeron (mirtazapine) is not SSRI : It is used for depression , anxiety , insomnia and can increase appetite, therefore can increase weight also.

Complex: Hi jeremiah, Remeron (mirtazapine)is both a noradrenergic and a serotinergic antidepressant or nassa. It also falls under the category of a tetracylic antidepressant. It can be prescribed off-label for the treatment of obsessive –compulsive disorder. It is often added in to treatment for it’s hypnotic effects (sleep). There is potential for Luvox (fluvoxamine) to increase Remeron levels. See below.
