Something close to t: Bright red blood usually indicates bleeding close to the anus vs, further up in the colon where the stool would look black. Common causes include hemmorhoids, anal fissure, and possibly diverticular hemmorhage. Since you report that your CT scan was negative, I assume that no divericuli were seen ruling out the latter diagnosis. Suggest GI evaluation as rectal bleeding can have serious causes
