Probably normal: most cells that comprise the inner lining of an organ do shed the way skin cells shed from the skin. The downward flow of fluid in the endometrial cavity would transport the cells to the cervical os where a swab or curettage of the cells in the cervical region or pap would indicate these non squamous benign appearing cells derived from endometrium.

Endometrial cells: Within normal limits Pap smear result means that no cell lesions or malignancy have been found. Reactive cellular changes, cellular atrophy, and endometrial cells present are normal variables. Pap smears are an excellent tool, but are not perfect.
