Abdominal X-ray : Not necessarily. Has she been evaluated by a physician? There are many things that could cause those symptoms. She needs a thorough history and physical.

Occasionally: Abdominal x-rays can give us clues about the nature of abdominal pain and once in a while suggest a specific diagnosis (very rarely pancreatitis). If two views are obtained we can rule out certain emergent causes of the pain. Often however, the study is used in context with other tests, history, and physical to determine if a CT is needed, which is better at showing most causes of abdominal pain.
