Unrelated to Thyroid: "Lump" in Epigastric region most commonly would be Xyphoid Process. If you recently lost some weight , it may become more prominent. If it is soft and superficial could be fatty tumor( Lipoma) If tender ( Sebaceous cyst and Abscess) Best thing is to Get examined by your Doctor
