It's possible: A lump that is less than 1 cm and is very mobile and has not changed in size is not likely to be cancerous. If it is stuck down or getting larger then there is more of a possibility. Keep your appointment to have it checked.

Not likely: Swollen lymph nodes around the jaw may be due to an infection in the teeth or mouth. Since enlarged lymph nodes are often near the source of infection, their location can help determine the cause. Treat the condition that may have caused the lymph node enlargement. Take care.
