Usually..: All dental issues (gum problems and carious lesions) need to be treated before orthodontic treatment can begin.

Yes: we will not put braces on anyone who has not seen a dentist in the past 6 months. they key is we need to make sure your teeth are stable and have no cavities before bonding them with braces.
