My baby's first tooth is the lateral incisor. is this normal?

Yes: Dental eruption patterns are quite variable in infancy & do not imply lack of specific teeth or dietary deficiencies. Average is 1/ mo starting @ 4-6m with bottom incisors first and upper 4 later, but its all quite variable & have seen premolars come in first on rare occasion.

Yes: Infants can get their teeth in many different orders. Typically the central incisors are first, but it is not abnormal for the laterals to erupt first.
