Not normal.: If this does not resolve in a day or two, please see your dentist, a periodontist, or an oral surgeon for evaluation. Your description suggests some trauma to the gums and it should disappear soon. Otherwise, it is a situation that needs professional investigation.

See a periodontist: No it is not normal so see a periodontist who will evaluate the area and either treat the problem or remove the area if necessary.
