A member asked:

Would having lattice degeneration prevent me from undergoing lasik surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Lattice degeneration is a peripheral retinal pigment patterning indicating an area of stress and a risk for retinal detachment in the future. LASIK does not affect this. However some LASIK surgeons will avoid doing the procedure on those with lattice because a patient might connect the two. You can explain that you are aware of that risk and the lack of connection to the LASIK surgeon.
